On Monday, July 28, 2025, 54 students of the Undergraduate Law Program at Duta Bangsa University (UDB) Surakarta participated in a field study at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MK RI). This activity is part of an effort to improve students' practical understanding of the state system and the strategic role of the Constitutional Court in maintaining the country's constitution. This academic visit took place in the Delegation Room on the 4th Floor of the Constitutional Court Building, Jakarta, and was accompanied by accompanying lecturers Aris Prio Agus Santoso, S.H., M.H., Aryono, S.H., M.H., drg. Erni Susanti Tahir, M.H., and Rahmawati Setiyani, S.Hut., M.Sc. The UDB group was welcomed directly by the Young Expert Legal Analyst of the Constitutional Court, Andhyta Andam Nadia.

In the presentation session, Andhyta explained the history, authority, and role of the Constitutional Court in the Indonesian legal system. He emphasized that the Constitutional Court is a judicial institution that was born after the reformation, as a result of the Third Amendment to the 1945 Constitution. The Constitutional Court was established to meet the need for more specific constitutional law enforcement, which was previously entirely the authority of the Supreme Court. The Constitutional Court has several main authorities, including testing laws against the 1945 Constitution, deciding disputes over authority between state institutions, and resolving disputes over election results. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has the authority to test laws and regulations below the law. Students were also introduced to various innovations and technologies implemented by the Constitutional Court, such as the Electronic Case Handling Information System (SIMPel), as well as information transparency through various media, including social media, scientific journals, magazines, and the Constitutional Court's involvement in international judicial forums.

Through this visit, students had the opportunity to witness firsthand how the legal process is carried out in this highest constitutional institution. In addition to broadening their knowledge, this activity also aimed to shape the students' character to be critical, objective, and possess high integrity in upholding the values of justice and the rule of law. It is hoped that this field study experience will provide valuable provisions for UDB Surakarta's undergraduate law students as they navigate the professional world of law and become agents of change capable of contributing to law enforcement in Indonesia.
