UDB Surakarta Information Systems Students Develop 24 Innovative Digital Projects Through Course Collaboration

The Information Systems Study Program at Duta Bangsa University (UDB) Surakarta reaffirmed its commitment to integrating theory and practice through a collaborative Project-Based Learning (PJBL) approach in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This activity involves three core courses: Corporate Application Integration, E-Business, and Information Technology Governance, designed to hone students' technical and strategic competencies in digital system development. This PJBL was attended by students from the 2022 intake from various classes (22A1, 22A2, and 22A3), with cross-class groups formed. Each group was challenged to design, implement, and document a digital application project that was not only technologically innovative but also had real business value and was in line with the principles of information technology governance.

A total of 24 projects were successfully developed by students, including:
1. Web-Based Laundry Information System Analysis and Design: This application is designed to help laundry businesses manage transactions, customer data, and laundry status digitally, improving daily operational efficiency.
2. AmalNow Donation Application: An online donation platform that facilitates the distribution of funds to various social programs transparently and quickly, equipped with fund tracking and activity reporting features.
3. Eventify – Event Management Application: A web-based system for event management, including participant registration, event information, and online ticket payment.
4. Technological Innovation in the Beauty Industry: A digital-based beauty consultation and booking platform that connects customers with clinics and beauty service providers.
5. Student Used Goods Buying and Selling Application: An internal campus marketplace that allows students to easily sell and buy used goods, supporting the principles of a circular economy.
6. FitMeal Catering Food Ordering System: A subscription-based healthy catering ordering app with menu selection, delivery schedules, and nutrition reporting features.
7. Hollowframe – Digital Art Gallery System Analysis and Integration: A digital artwork curation and sales system to support local artists in showcasing their work online.
8. Thrift Mart E-Commerce: A platform for selling quality secondhand (thrift) clothing with integrated payment systems and automated stock management.
9. Climbing Equipment Rental Information System: An outdoor equipment rental app that provides stock information, ordering, and an automated return system.
10. MotoPart – Motorcycle Parts E-Commerce: An e-commerce platform for selling motorcycle parts with an interactive catalog and product compatibility checking feature.
11. Merbabuku – Personal Library Book Management Platform: A web-based application for managing personal book collections with cataloging, lending, and reading statistics features.
12. Furnie – Local Furniture E-Commerce Application: A digital platform for promoting and selling furniture products made by local artisans, complete with custom ordering features.
13. Integrated POS (Point of Sale) System: A modern, web-based cashier system for MSMEs with product data integration, sales reports, and customer management features.
14. Digital Invitation – Online Wedding Invitation Ordering: An interactive and cost-effective digital wedding invitation design and ordering service.
15. Tirta Nirmala Ticket Website: An online application for booking tickets to the Tirta Nirmala resort and swimming pool, complete with schedule selection and payment systems.
16. RaiseMeUp – Student Self-Development App: A platform that provides self-development modules and soft skills training to support students' career readiness.
17. RotiKu – Online Bread Ordering: A web-based bread ordering system for local bakeries, featuring pre-ordering and delivery integration.
18. TitipGo – Online Personal Shopper App: A personal shopper (jastip) platform that connects shoppers and buyers through a location-based system and product catalog.
19. Your Favorite Shirt – E-Commerce Fashion: An e-commerce application focused on selling custom clothing tailored to youth trends, with design simulation features.
20. Digital Furniture Interior & E-Commerce Solutions: An application that integrates interior design planning with digital and interactive furniture ordering.
21. AcaraKita – Community Event Management: An event management application for communities, organizations, and campuses, complete with member coordination and event notification features.
22. Lokanara – Local Creative Product E-Commerce: A digital marketing platform for local creative and craft products, helping MSMEs reach a wider market.
23. Lestari Adventure – Nature Tourism Rental and Booking: An application for camping equipment rentals and nature tourism activity bookings with group booking features and guided schedules.
24. Online Tutoring Application: An online private tutoring service management system with scheduling, video conferencing, and student progress reporting features.


Several other projects include a POS system for MSMEs, a digital invitation application, a tourist ticket booking platform, student self-development, local fashion and furniture e-commerce, as well as a community application, online tutoring, and a concierge service. As part of the learning output, each group is required to prepare a project report, application user guide, and scientific articles. Several student articles have been successfully published in national journals such as JUTITI and JUISIK, proving that the results of this project are not only practical but also academically sound. This activity received high appreciation from the lecturers, namely Sri Sumarlinda, M.Kom, Ph.D., Sopingi, M.Kom, and Intan Oktaviani, M.Kom, who also provided guidance and comprehensive evaluation of each project.


"This collaboration is an effective learning tool because students are required to understand the technical aspects of system development, digital business models, and the principles of IT governance as a whole," said one of the lecturers. Through this program, students not only hone their academic and technical competencies but also improve their collaboration, communication, and responsibility skills for work that has the potential to directly benefit the community. The UDB Information Systems Study Program is committed to continuing to encourage project-based learning as part of the implementation of the Independent Campus curriculum, producing graduates who are ready to face the challenges of the digital world holistically.
